A conservative wedding

Of recent events and so on.

So two major events have transpired since I last wrote here. The first is that I moved into a new place. Its totally sweet. With amazing kitchen appliances, central air and heat, and two separate balconies from which one may survey much that is awesome (meaning the alley running behind our building). Special thanks to Russell for helping us move, My roommates and I do number a disproportionately high amount of skinny no-good-movers and were very thankful for your aid. It seriously is a sweet place, and at least before utilities is cheaper than my old pad. It also is a 10 min. walk from the train station, which means I get to walk down a quiet residential street with cool houses, as opposed to waiting for the bus to ride down ugly ol' montrose, a vast improvement indeed.

The second major event was I attended the first wedding among my college friends. It was an intimate affair held at garfield park conservatory, which was cool in and of itself to see, the flaming sword palm was in particular, a visually exciting plant. It was a small wedding with the reception at the conservatory afterwards. Several friends came in from out of town for it and it was cool to catch up with them. The ceremony itself was brief, 13 minutes, and unfortunately I couldn't hear much of the vows, though I suppose it really only matters that they heard each other. At one point the bride giggled when the officiator used the words "passionate love," it was rather funny as the couple is usually very reserved about such things. Anyway, a good wedding and best of luck to them.

In other news, I used logarithims today at work. I can honestly say that I never ever thought I would personally have occasion to use them when I studied them in high school, but they seem to be just the thing to solve a particular problem I'm working on at work. I also went to Detroit 2 weekends ago for an ultimate tournament, my team did surprisingly well and I'm looking forward to the fall season and am having more fun playing than I anticipated I would earlier in the year.
