Hey! he posted.

So long time, no writing, a lack of inspiration I suppose.

I just read Eric's farewell letter to ultimate, sad stuff, the game has lost one of its great defensive innovators, (I personally saw the debut of the hide behind girls defense). was interesting to read as I've recently had my own second thoughts about playing the sport, I'm not at the point of quitting but lets just say its no longer a given.

Suddenly there's a lot more blogging going on. Casualultimate.blogspot is enjoyable, as is theunpaidbartab.blogspot.

So we're about to move. Not far, but I'll be much closer to the train that I take to work which means no bus ride, all together I should have about 30-40 minutes extra in my day than I do right now, that's very exciting to me. As is the place we'll be moving into, 3000 sq ft. or something. Its beautiful with a huge deck. I can picture myself reading, and hopefully writing, on the patio with mojito in hand Taking in gods creation, or at least his creations that inhabit the alley the patio overlooks. I'll also very living with a TV star. That's right, tv's favorite dad Sandy Cohen will be living with us. Not really of course, but about the closest facisimile (sp?) thereof I've seen, in truth it will be Joe Ferrari, kevin cho, Bk, akira, and your own humble sometimes-to-increasingly-never scribe.

Played some ultimate today, it was hot, had to stop near the beginning and catch some shade as I felt very close to vomiting. That was fun. But it was the first practice with Gary's team, which was good. I think we'll be decent, not nationals level, but decent. Its good playing with guys who have been there and know their limits, as opposed to with young players who are good but haven't realized their limits yet as players, harsh but I don't feel like being generous. I just don't want any bullshit or hocus pocus on a team I play for right now, I just want to play with competent people from whom I know what I can expect.

Sand blast and Mars were fun. I think I should ditch ultimate and focus on starting a beer schtick league. Kim? Bryan? any takers? (I know the question to kim is moot as she'll never see this, but that girl is crafty with beer in hand) We did the best the team has done when I've been there at Mars this year. had a weird schedule where we played teams that came in 1,2,4,5,~10,31,32 or therabouts. So a number of tough games. I played rather well in one of them which was nice. Although I don't think I was in better shape than last year, it was remarkable how even occasional playing allowed me to feel less toolish out there compared to last year. Good team, good fun. We are probably 1 of a very few number of teams that have gone 3-3 and made the A pool. One year we went 5-1 and missed it. I wish there were more fun random coed tournaments. PD and Mars just isn't enough. Maybe that's what I should do. Organize a combo coed tournament with a beer schtick game in place of the last round sat. and for all the consolation games on sunday. I think that could work. Maybe next year. Just need a large flat space where drinking wouldn't be a problem, maybe milwaukee? Thoughts?

Sandblast was good. rather hot, a frustrating finish, but a good tourney up to that point. We beat a good team from Iowa soundly and our women, primarily, beat a U of I alum team that had a tennis teammate from high school on it, very satisfying. Was nice to win both of those.

Just watched galaxy quest, the part where the GQ fan shoots a nerf arrow at the evil alien general made me laugh.

Well thats about it for now, figure I should ease into this again, hopefully I'll post soon, no promises though.

Yeah, I was thinking it would be nice to find another tourney to take the Mars T&S crew to. Has to be a ways after nationals and before the summer really gets going. GenderBlender would be awesome, but it's kind of expensdive to get to and it's usually the weekend before PD.
